Disable or Remove Firefox Relay Service in Firefox Browser

Starting from Firefox 111.0 version, Mozilla team has integrated its “Firefox Relay” service in the built-in Passwords Manager or Credential Manager tool of Firefox web browser. This new service allows users to mask their email address to improve privacy by showing a new promotional message for Firefox Relay service inside the auto-fill email drop-down box on websites. If you don’t want to use the new service, you can disable or remove Firefox Relay from Firefox browser using this article.

What is Firefox Relay Service?

Firefox Relay service is a tool provided by Mozilla team which allows users to mask their email addresses to improve the privacy. It automatically masks your email ID while filling out online forms. Thus your email ID remains private. It forwards the received emails to your real email address. So basically Firefox Relay allows you to hide your real email address from websites which you don’t trust.

So Firefox users are no longer required to visit Firefox Relay website and install the extension manually. They can start using Firefox Relay directly using Firefox Settings page.

You can click on the option to create a mask for your email address using Firefox Relay.

  1. Your instructions for disabling are so clear and helpful. Mozilla should take a lesson from you. (And Adobe too, they are the worst.) Thank you for the support.
