Microsoft Shows Windows 8 Preview
The most exciting thing in the preview was introduction of brand new "Start Screen" which looks very similar to Windows Phone 7 home screen and shows live tiles of the installed programs in Windows 8.
Windows 8 Features New Metro Style “Start Screen” with Live Tiles
The video also shows a Start panel in right-side of screen which is called "Charms Bar". It contains a few shortcuts like Start, Settings, Connect, Search, etc.
"vhanla" @ DA has started working on a look-like UI for Windows 7 users. "Win8Menu" is a small application for Windows 7 which tries to imitate new Windows 8 Tablet UI.

Currently its under development and a testing version is available for download.
Extract the downloaded ZIP file and run the EXE file. It'll show the starting lock screen showing background and time. Now click on the background and drag-n-drop it to top. It'll show the next Start Screen which shows website tiles on Desktop using EIGHT application which we shared recently.
You can access the right-side panel anytime by simply moving your mouse cursor to right-side.
Its really a nice attempt. We'll update this article as soon as a new updated version is released.

Nice idea but it's really useless as of now. If I were him, I'd better to make it stable prior to release it. We create apps in order to use.

^^ Its a portable app. Move your mouse cursor to the right-side of screen to show right-sidebar, right-click on it and select Exit. Or End task of it using Task manager. Or simply restart or log off your system to close it.
@LePeR
lol.
@Me
Why?

Tried it and it seems to be too buggy.
Could'nt get any of the things to work.
Had to exit through Task Manager.
