If you are facing menu cut-off problem in Start menu, then take a look at this link.

Its an update over previous VistaVG RTM theme.

This theme has been made for Windows XP users who want to have "Windows Vista" look in their Windows. This theme can make your Windows XP look like Windows Vista.

"VistaVG" is the first Windows Vista look-a-like theme for Windows XP and almost all other themes available on net are based on it.

FIX:

1. Chevron BUG fixed.

2. Startmenu image BUG fixed.

And a few other BUGs fixed...

NEW:

1. A new style "Black" has been added to the theme after a lot of demand for black titlebar.

2. A separate theme for Startmenu Searchbar lovers. It shows the Vista searchbar in Start menu but its fake. You need "LSPatch" to use it.

And more...

UPDATE:

1. Titlebar Text is shown in Left now.

2. Common Tasks are also shown in Left but an extra "shellstyle.dll" file is included for bottom common tasks.

3. Aero style for 32x icon size is default now.

4. Lots of new Vista images, like "All Programs" arrow, Explorer arrows, Startmenu images, Logoff/Shutdown images, etc.

5. A few colors changed.

And lots of other small updates...

HOW TO USE:

1. Extract the contents and you'll get a folder.

2. In this folder, you'll get 4 more folders:

=> Bottom Common Tasks (This folder contains "shellstyle.dll" file for showing common tasks in explorer at bottom.)

=> Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Copy them to "%windir%\Fonts" folder.)

=> Styler Toolbar (This folder contains Style toolbar for explorer. To know more about Styler and how to use it, visit following link:

=> Theme (This folder contains the main theme.)

3. Copy all contents in "Theme" folder to "%windir%\Resources\Themes\" folder.

4. Now you can set the theme using Desktop Properties.

5. Also make sure you have patched the "uxtheme.dll" file to allow 3rd party visual styles, if its not patched, then download and run the UXtheme Patcher from here:

For XP SP2 Users - Download UXTheme Patcher

NOTE: Avira anti-virus might show a virus alert in the pack which is a false positive alert. Actually it prompts about "LSPatch.exe" file which is included in the pack. LSPatch.exe doesn’t contain any virus. It modifies the "Explorer.exe" file which is a system file. That’s why Avira detects a CloseApp riskware in the file. No other anti-virus detect any suspicious item in the pack. So you can safely ignore the alert.

^^ Yep. Auslogics Visual Styler did patch the files, thats why you are able to use themes.
Regarding the Taskbar problem, its happening because Windows is taking time to load. There must be lots of programs in your startup list which are causing this delay.

^^ The main culprit is the "LSPatch.exe" file which is included in the pack. It’s a 3rd party application which can remove the "Log Off" and "Shut Down" text from startmenu.

If you delete this exe file from the pack, avira will not detect any suspicious item.

Now I know what LSPatch.exe is I want to use it because it sounds a lot easier than the replacer / reshacker thing i had to do with another theme. However when I tell avira to ignore it - it won't - it keeps repeating itself so should I turn av off until i've installed lspatch? I'll be disconnected from the Internet so it will be safe or maybe it's the idiot sat in front of the computer not avira (that would be me!)

Anyway it is a great theme VG :) thank you! Your themes are awesome! Thanks again.

^^ Yep. You can turn off avira at the time of running LSPatch. Its safe.

  • I found out what the delay was, it was Realsched (Realplayer automatic updater) that causes a resource hog on startups, so I disabled all of that along with the message center. Now startups are so much faster but the task bar still appears as blue at first but it's only for less than a second, so it's nothing to worry about now.

  • Also last thing I want to say is the VistaVG Ultimate theme is easily the best theme you could get for xp I'd say, anything else that is a clone would probably make your system slower, because most of them probably don't use the default Luna engine. I recommend this theme to anyone and anything else made by VG.
