There are 2 versions in this theme as usual:

  • Blue32 (for 32x icon size)
  • Blue48 (for 48x icon size)

FIX:

1. Item selection yellow color bug fixed.

NEW:

1. New Window Frame

2. New Blue Progressbar

UPDATE:

1. Titlebar buttons updated.

2. Menubar updated.

3. Shellstyle updated.

4. A few colors like selection, hover, etc updated.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the file and extract its content. You'll get a folder "VistaVG Blue Refresh Theme by Vishal Gupta".

2. In this folder, you'll get 2 more folders:

=> Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Copy them to "%windir%\Fonts" folder.)

=> Theme (This folder contains the main theme.)

3. Copy all contents in "Theme" folder to "%windir%\Resources\Themes\" folder.

4. Now you can apply the theme using Desktop Properties.

5. Also make sure you have patched the "uxtheme.dll" file to allow 3rd party visual styles, if its not patched, then download and run the UXtheme Patcher from here:

For XP SP3 Users - Download UXTheme Patcher
For XP SP2 Users - Download UXTheme Patcher

^^ Pls take a look at following topic:

    http://www.askvg.com/transform-your-windows-xp-in-windows-vista-without-any-customization-pack/

  • That was awesome!

Initially I ran into problems, but after patching the uxtheme.dll file with the Multipatcher everything went well. But before that, I had to rename the i386 folder in C:\WINDOWS since the Multipatcher could not patch if that folder is present. After that, the folder returned with its original name when I restarted Windows. I have Windows XP with sp3.

    Thanks dude :)

  • ive been wanting my laptop to have vista but everyone says it so slow and a waste but i think windows xp looks so stupid! so i finaly found a windows xp theme! and i downloaded it and i got the folders... i copied the theme folder into what it told me and then i opened the fonts file (where all the fonts on my computer are) and each font has its own little paper icon and it has the name of the font....so anyway i go back to the vistaVG folder that opened when i downloaded it and copied the fonts folder no problem... but when i right clicked in the fonts folder, the paste button was shaded and it wont let me paste the file...what do i do?

Click on "File-> Install New Fonts" and then browse to the folder containing fonts. You can also drag-n-drop fonts in "Fonts" folder.

  • okay...so i got the fonts in place and the themes where it should be and the theme is not showing up when i look for it :(
