Download Windows Vista Dark Theme “VistaVG Black” for Windows XP

This new theme is a black version of my recently released theme "VistaVG". Its also a Windows XP port of my "Vista Black Theme for Vista".

How to Install and Use:

1. Once you download the file, extract it. You'll get a folder.

2. In this folder, you'll get 2 more folders:

Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Copy them to "%windir%\Fonts" folder.)
Theme (This folder contains the main theme.)

3. Download and run UXTheme patcher using following topic:

4. Copy all contents in "Theme" folder to "%windir%\Resources\Themes\" folder and apply the theme using Desktop Properties.

NOTE: In the above step, %windir% means C:\Windows\ folder. We assume that Windows is installed in C: drive in your system. If you installed Windows in some other drive, replace C: with the appropriate drive letter.

when i double click the uxtheme patcher i downloaded from the link you posted i get this message: UXTheme Multi-Patcher v6.0 has detected that theres any Windows NT setup file in
c:\windows\\i386

Its not recommended you to continue with this. Please eject your Windows NT CD or move that folder to somewhere else. Press OK to exit UXTheme Mluti-Patcher v6.0

ok. all i had to do was to pay attention to what the message said, so i moved the folder i368 to my documents instead of windows. it worked. it opened. then it asked me if the info given was the same as the one i have in my computer. i know everything matches except for the Build Number. WHat is it?

i have lost my xp theme and the vista theme is not yet showing. and the below message comes out. What should i do. should i restar my computer? I am scared. i only have availabe the stupid windows classic theme. Please help. please.

please wait about one minute to cancel Windows File Protection or patching operation fail. Do not insert your setup Cd at this time. After youve canceled all Windows file protection, click the finisth utton to exit and restar your computer

^^ Don't pay attention to that message. Windows shows the message because it finds a system file "uxtheme.dll" modified by UXtheme Patcher. Simply cancel that message.

You have to do as following to get the theme working:

1. Run UXtheme patcher in Safe mode.
2. Restart your system and if you get that protection message, cancel it.
3. Now try to apply the theme and it should work.

This message appears. What do i do? i have waited a minute already. Haha, i dont know if it was really a minute or they were just using this expression. anyway, this is the message:

Please wait about one minute to cancel Windows File Protection or patching operation fail. Do not insert your setup CD at this time. After you've canceled all Windows File Protection, click the Finish button to exit and restart your computer.

Then there is only an "OK" button.

i tried to use the theme without patching it first now my screen is all black except for desktop icons any help?

Have you had any experience with Vistart Skin Manager?
I have Vistart installed but I like the skins that come with the skin manager.
When I apply a skin it changes ok but after a reboot it's back to the original skin?
Anyway to change this?

um i seem to be having a problem. each theme i get from this site except for the Se7en theme appears as a windows classic instead of a Vista one. Is there something i didn't do?
How can i fix this?
