In Windows Vista, you can't use any image as folder background. But there is a small utility which allows you to set any wallpaper as background image in folders.
Thanks to Andreas for creating "Vista Folder Background". It integrates itself in Explorer and adds a new tab "Folder Background" in Folder Customization dialog box.

Hey bro,
thanks a lot for this man, it worked beautifully on my computer (running Vista Home premium)!
But i just wanna make sure this doesnt do anything bad to my registry, because i got a message saying "Adding keys to the registry can prevent your computer from working, make sure u trust the source".
I just wanna be clear on that lol

could you believe i had unselected display folder background in my performance advanced settings menu
i think i have that cause i don't see any background...can u please tell me what u did after...how do i acces ,,my performance advance menu otpition? pls...many anticipated thanks

^^ Type sysdm.cpl in RUN or Startmenu Searchbox and press enter.

thanks VG for the prompt answer ...i did manage to thick everything there but didn't solve my problem...i still cant see any background in any of my folders...i'm starting to be desperate now...i did install all the req....and the installed the software whit no errors...if i go on folder option my selected background is there.......but i still cant see it in explorer will navigating thru my pc ...:(
