Vista Black Theme for Windows Vista

I'm glad to announce my new theme "Vista Black" for Windows Vista.

I have created this theme for "Windows Vista Basic" users who can't use "Aero" in their systems and are forced to use the Vista Basic theme. I have tried to make it similar to Vista Aero theme.

NOTE: It'll apply the Aero theme by default. If you want to use the "basic" version which I made specially, then change it from "Windows Color and Appearance -> Open classic appearance properties for more color options" and select the Basic version from the list and then apply.

^^ I think you have installed SP1 in Vista. VistaGlazz is not compatible. Install Tuneup Utilities and then apply the theme using it.

  •   ya thanks it sove my problem ...............and nice work dude

  • Ran Vistaglazz, installed this theme, it mostly works - but selected window still has blue deges at right and bottom - spoiling the effect.. Can I get rid of them somehow?

  • Not really seeing anything different between this theme and the standard Vista theme with color choice set to gray. I don't think it's working...

^^ Use Tuneup Utilities to apply the theme.

  • Oh man, Tuneup Utilities costs $50. Is that the only way?

Are you using SP1 in Vista? If yes, then try VistaGlazz latest beta version which supports SP1.

  • I have SP3 now and I already ran VistaGlazz. I just downloaded the trial versin of Tuneup Utilities and used it to select the theme. I'm confused about whether or not I'm supposed to be in Aero or 'basic'. If I select the "Black" theme I get black window frames with transparent borders, but many of the menus, toolbars dialogs and butons remain light blue.

If I don't buy Tuneup Utiilies does everything revert to standard after 30 days?

I really would like to make this work.

  • Sorry I meant SP1.
