Anyhow, copy the DLL file to the "Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player" folder, then use the following in the Run dialogue box:

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll"

This is how I fixed it anyhow, if you still get problems note that using %Program Files% is a way of doing this without telling windows the actual directory. So by default it goes into the 32-bit version of Program Files, in either case by typing the actual directory structure in full it will work, provided it's the correct place where you put the DLL file, so you could put it also into the regular "Program Files\Windows Media Player" directory, then try:

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll"

But it shouldn't be necessary if you have put the DLL in the (x86) folder to begin with. Good luck!

Great to have this back, although it would be nice if it disappeared when I opened the program, it's better than the crappy Aero Peak rubbish!

Some steps are missing in the tuto...

It was asked in §3 : "Now right-click on "Windows Media Player Network Sharing" service and select "Stop". It'll stop the service."

And the missing point is :
Restart the service you stopped in §3 !!!

To anyone failing to register the DLL:

1)Run the cmd.exe as admin
2)type command as above

if this fails change %programfiles% to C:\Program Files\ This is what I did and it works... Also note do not attempt to register DLL with WMP open....
