@KTown: Agreed. I've been using Logon Studio all this time, and it's great. I currently have a custom collection that I change whenever my mood swings, plus a few holiday-related ones for those times of the year. (I use wallpapers from DigitalBlasphemy.com, of which I'm a lifetime member; I have so many to choose from that I can never decide!)

@VG: Related to the above, you need to add Stardock's Logon Studio to this list. It's freeware, so it qualifies, plus it also comes in an XP version (though XP's logon screens are limited to 16-colors just like the boot screen; yuck).

Stardock's logon changer is the best, because it's the only one which can make PNG logon screens. ^_^

Does TuneUp Utilities work in Windows 7? I know it's not free but they have given the 2010 version out for free. It's the best piece of software I've ever used. It freed up more than 7 GB of space. I had no idea that back-ups were taking up so much space o.O

DisplayFusion does a good job as well.

And lets not forget Windows 7 Logon Screen Tweaker for some extra special tweaking of the logon screen.
