Comments on: Troubleshooting Windows Vista Activation Error Codes and Error Messages

I am at my wit's end and I hope you can help me. I have been trying activate my copy of Windows Vista and I have been going round and round with Microsoft and Lenovo, who keep referring me back to the other.

Anyway, I go the error message that my copy of the windows was not geniune, along wth a 6002 Build. I finally have determined that my copy has a error code of 0x80070057.

Please help me, I am just starting grad school, I don't have the money to buy a new product code, or any fix that Lenovo offered me. Frankly, since I didn't pirate anything and simply bought a laptop, I don't think I shoudl have to.

This version of windows is not genuine
Same happened to me after four year of usage, and after eigth months from having changed the motherboard because of malfunctioning.

to seems very strange that after i recieved and email from a microsoft bloger strange thinks had happened, anyway the notebook is a brand machine with preinstalled windos vista home premium, why should I buy and reinstall it?

Also another strange think was that I installed office 2007 preview and only those events apear at the system recovery.

it is anoying and discussing, very much....

Because I payed for a new machine with everything on it.

i am so poor i cant buy a new product key so i tried detectivate then activate with same key but it doesn't work and i have no money to buy another.

I just received the error code "SHDOCVE.EXE" failed to load, this application may need to be reinstalled" and now my PC goes to a black screen after the logon and won't do anything else

I started receiving the message " This version of windows is not genuine". It then tells us that we need to Validate our Windows Vista, but when we try, it says our product key is not valid. I contacted the store where we purchased our laptop and they had HP contact us. After explaining the problem they sent me a System Recovery DVD. I followed the instructions, recovered my system and restored my backup. The problem seemed to be fixed, but after about 2 weeks, the problem returned. Windows will not download updates due to it believing we have a pirated copy. Is this a virus and how do we fix it if it is? If not, what do we do?

Now.
I can't recover, my restore files are gone (don't ask me why) and... that's about it.

When I tried to verify Vista with Microsoft's plug-in or wtevr it gave me error code 0xC004C533.

^^ You should use the phone option and follow the instructions. Tell them that you are using genuine product key came with the system but you are not able to activate Windows using it.
