thnx, it all works

although it may make the computer a tiny bit slower, its still awsome. the slowdown isn't noticeable though. I had my visual styles disabled but now they;re enabled again, doesn't feel any slower

now my computer looks like windows 7

plz help me i want to change the screen background of welcome window which after installing win xp for optional register to microsoft and create user. and i also want to change the background of chkdsk and scandisk at startup. plz as early as possible.

I experienced the same problem. You can solve your problem by using "Replacer". You can find it in the download section of this awesome website.

Try to follow again VG's Awesome Tutorial. Then change what are you doing until now on the last step. Instead of Saving shell32.dll or something on the same folder or in system32, save it as on your desktop. Now here's the fix. Use the Replacer to paste shell32.dll and the other that you have saved in your desktop to system32 folder. I discovered that way because WPA don't work for me. After you have paste your modified shell32.dll and others, Restart your computer and you'll see the difference!

great tutorial!!

i've tried it, but have some problems here. my log off and shutdown, progress dialog box, and about windows box doesn't change. i followed all the instruction, got no "Can't Create File.." dialog when using Resource Hacker.

i'm using XP SP2 ....

can you help me with these problems ..?

It would be so nice if there would be a setup where you can check and uncheck ALL these sweat stuff for XP and then it will auto apply it...
