#2. "It's easiest to place the image file in the same location as the userChrome.css file."

Easiest? Only... since Firefox 3 I've yet to find any other way for this to work at all. All of my "image" URLs (data/chrome) from Firefox 2 stopped working altogether. What is it about Firefox 3 that prevents you from referencing images NOT in the chrome folder?

Thanks.

^^ Just type "about:cache" (without quotes) in Firefox addressbar and press Enter. It'll show the cache location and also you can check all sites stored in cache.

^^ Its not outdated. You'll need to create a new String value with the name "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" and then set its value to the desired folder path.

dear vishal,
first of all thank you for sharing. your website is indeed a useful read. this is my first time. how ever, the above tweaks for firefox may be outdated, as i am using version 2, and i can't find browser.cache.disk.parent_directory anywhere in about:config.
please check,
