Vista is not even able to move (big) file systems to folders, where the same folders already exist. (For example downloads with many pics in many folders)
The original folders will not be deleted completely, but they are empty (not always!)
Vista asks if they should be "integrated" but then it doesnt! No error message!
You can try it again and again then and the number of empty files will dercrease
slowly.About 10 Folders per try.
Also it is not possible to move files if vista means there will not be enough place in the target drive for all. No possibility to ignore this in order to fill up the drive as far as possible.

I solved the problem by using teracopy.
It works great! Thats a shame for microsoft!

With the taskbar bug - it's strange how it doesn't happen on my computer.

Instead, a Realtek settings program opens (there is a tray icon for it!)

A small update on my above post:
That BSOD is in fact a STOP ERROR 0x116 or so called "TDR bug". When resuming from sleep mode the ATI driver is restarted several times (with flickering screen), until time-out, when this BSOD appears. Also SPU drivers are somewhat affected (Asus M3A32 Deluxe w/SoundMAX) and also Marvell Yukon when energy star option is on.

More info on:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/display/wddm_timeout.mspx

I guess I'm not using sleep mode on this machine too :/

BTW ATI, nVidia and MS would be rather interested IF someone found a cure for this TDR bug. It only happens after sleep mode for my PC but many have random driver restarts on desktop and gaming. This is not a Vista only problem as XP and Linux have this exact problem (but with a proper crash).

VG: I give it a though. It would take some time to reproduce and document these properly... not my forte :)

I could reproduce almost all of the listed bugs on Vista Ultimate x64.

1) Couldn't reproduce the Taskbar Bug. It could be x86 only?

2) I don't think that Titlebar Bug is really a bug. It clearly got nothing to do with buttons itself but the position of the cursor in the Titlebar.

3) I agree that those two Desktop.Ini -files are very annoying but even more so is Documents Desktop.Ini which preserves the "Documents" name - even when location is moved to server AND the folder is viewed from another computer. I bet some admins have their "Users -directory" full of "Documents" :D

Some of my own foundings:

Most annoying bug that has happened on me in a few Vista -installations is difficulty of changing window focus in Aero. I happens only sometimes but way too often. I don't know what causes it but CTRL-ALT-DEL always clears it up OR several left clicks on the titlebar. I recently build a new blazingly fast and stable Phenom build with 8GB of memory - and it still has the same bug :/

Newer ATI Catalysts cause a weird BSOD with Sleep-mode - fortunately not in my work laptop but workstations only. I newer get any any leads on this as there's never visible BSOD or anything in the event log.

I would have truckloads of these small bugs if the topic was Office 2007 or anything mobile related. Maybe another time :)

Needs sanitization and some serious developers with more rigorous testing.
