"SmartUp Menu" is a portable startmenu replacement for Windows XP. If you are bored with default startmenu and want to use a more advanced and customizable startmenu, then "SmartUp Menu" is what you are looking for.
It looks like Vista and 7 startmenu and provides lots of useful shortcuts like Control Panel, My Computer, Shutdown menu, etc at the left top area.

You can access all your installed programs, drives, system folders easily and quickly. So its a complete startmenu replacement.
If you want to add/remove items, right-click on the launcher and select "Edit Mode":

Now you can customize each and every item.

this is a cool piece of application.
i would say this is even better than windows 7 start menu.
pros:
can directly access my computer,control panel,program files,favourites from start menu itself.
provides transparency (so XP users will love it)
provides search bar in start menu
cons:
doesnt search properly.

just go to task manager and end the process "Smartup.exe".
it will bring back old start menu.

SHUTDOWN PROBLEM (major issue)
when i click on shutdown in Smartup menu it opens my documents folder. also other options like restart and log off open my documents folder.
i cannot even shutdown my pc using task manager.
also WIN + u + u doesnt work.
only way i can shutdown my PC is by ending the "smartup.exe" process and then shutting it down !
this aint exactly the start ksoft would have wanted.
please help.

You can exit by right clicking and selecting "Exit".
As for shutting down, I was going to ask...
Vishal, I'm not sure what parameters/switches to pass on to shutdown.exe in order to shut it down through SmartStart... can you help me out?
