Recently I posted about Google Android secret codes. After that mobile phone, I got my hands on the new stylish and awesome phone "Samsung Wave GT-S8500" which comes with Samsung's new Bada OS.
While playing with the new phone, I found some interesting hidden secret codes which can enable/disable various hidden options and can also provide lots of useful information about the phone which is not available in default menus.

You just need to type the codes using Keypad:

Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.
PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.

This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.
*#0228#
This code can be used to get detailed information about phone battery.
*#7465625#
This code can be used to check the status of Sim Lock and Network Lock.

Dear sir / madam
In June this year I have been to spain , Barcelona and I went to the Corte Ingles, where They sold me a Samsung Wave GT - S8500, but they sold me , the telephoneon and I put the chip of mexico. . The thing is that i live in mexcio and the vendor did not tell me that the telephone won't work , as I unfortunately found when I came back to Mexico.
I wrote them to know if is something wrong is with my telephone and they swear me that i can use it , but I can not send for example MMs or use the applications that cames with the phone.
I feel cheated and fustrated , because I think this telephone is marvelous. The question is , what do I do now ?.
I heard that it can be unblocked , but the Corte ingles says that there is not need, that the telephone is unblocked.
Please, could you tell me if I have hope in using some day this telephone in Mexico, or I have to resign to only receive calls and to make calls only, and to miss the applications software of the telephone.
I do not want to ruin the telephone by dooing some in order to fix in it.
Please I would appreciate if you could advice in this matter.

^^ If you can send/receive calls, it means its unlocked and will work fine in your location. Regarding applications and MMS not working, it might be a incorrect setting problem. You should get the correct MMS settings from your service provider and put them in the phone.
