[Fix] Pause Updates Option Changed from 35 Days to 7 Days in Windows 10
When Microsoft released Windows 10 Creators Update version 1703 to public, it came with a new option to pause automatic Windows updates download and installation. Users could temporary pause updates from being installed on their devices for up to 35 days.
[Tip] How to Defer or Pause Windows Updates Download in Windows 10
To use this feature, you need to open Settings app using WIN+I hotkey or by selecting Settings option from Start Menu. Then go to Update & security -> Windows Update page and click on “Advanced Options” link given at the bottom in right-side pane. It’ll open Windows Update’s advanced options page. Alternatively, You can also directly launch the advanced options page of Windows Update settings using “ms-settings:windowsupdate-options” command in RUN dialog box as mentioned here.

On Advanced Options page, under “Pause Updates” section, you’ll find an option to turn on/off pause updates feature. You can temporarily pause automatic updates download on your Windows 10 device for up to 35 days.
Following is a screenshot of the Pause Updates option which was taken a few days back. It clearly shows 35 days limit:
But now it seems the days limit to pause updates has been reduced to 7 days only. Recently many readers have contacted me regarding this issue. Now if you open the Advanced Options page of Windows Update settings, it shows that you can temporary pause updates from being installed on this device for up to 7 days only.
Following is the latest screenshot of Pause Updates option which is showing new 7 days limit:
I think Microsoft has changed this functionality via some update but which update caused this issue, is unknown to me at the moment.

UPDATE:
Following tutorial contains a fix to reset the days limit to 35 days or to change the days limit to desired number:
[Windows 10 Tip] Change Maximum Days Limit to Pause Windows Updates Installation
This is a bad move from Microsoft. I have no idea why did they change the limit from 35 days to 7 days.
You should check the option in your Windows 10 device and share the days limit in your comment.
Also Check:
Just checked mine showing 35 days.
On my rig 35 days also ! 15063 build 447
Well my winver shows Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.447) but I have 35 days.
Not a concern for me anyway.
Strange! So it seems the option is still 35 days for some users. May be Microsoft is performing A/B test?
Showing 7 Days 🙁 Windows version: 15063.447
VG any tweak to modify the days
^^ Currently I’m investigating this issue on my machines. If I come across any useful info or tweak to change the days limit, I’ll share it.

I haven’t used the feature, so maybe for first time it is 35 days then reduced to 7 days. Are those system showing 7 days already used 35 days pause feature or not ?
Nevermind already solution by VG 😀
