Actually, Opera is fast without turbo. Turbo is intended for people in extremely low bandwidth situations, such as on a phone connection. The Opera "Turbo" release actually includes fixes for other problems in the Opera snapshots, such as Vimeo support, etc.
Opera Alpha 10 is up to 30% faster than Opera 9, which is already, according to 3rd party tests, the fastest browser by far.

^^ Click on the clock icon in the left side of statusbar and it'll disable the Turbo feature. In that way you'll get the better quality images.

Thanks for this keeping us updated on Opera.My browsing speed has tremendously increased.Let the images be of low quality but they get cleared after some time.It's far better than Safari 4.

^^ Thats how this new Opera turbo works. It downloads compressed images and shows the low quality version of images to save bandwidth and loading time.
