  • Yeah I Updated !

First thing is noticed is the Address Bar Edges has been smoothly curved on the left.

  • great i've just downloaded the 3.06 few days ago......but its good i've not installed it yet, now i'll download 3.07 and give a try to it....

  • That did not happen in 3.0.7. 3.0.7 was only a security and stability release. Version 3 has that as a new feature since 3.0.0.

  • oh... seriously???!!
yeah i would accept that, i didnt noticed that totally all these days lol.. well yes i read the release notes there is lot of stability and security fixes.

  • As soon as I updated, I noticed an immense increase in response time and speed. There were no lags or snagging on images, and I am extremely happy with my Firefox for what seems like the first time. Now if I could just get my Linux version Firefox to run as smoothly, I will not know what to do with myself. :D

  • @Ron Are you using an official firefox release, or a distro build?

  • Hey Tyler,

I used a fresh install of OpenSuse 11.1. I also did a fresh install of Firefox. I now might be missing vital plug ins and such, but I am unsure. I have not been on it since last I posted here. :D

  • You are installing Firefox by downloading from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html, right? That is the official build. Other builds, like Opensuse, have a lot of known issues, and not as many features (like crash reporting), that the official build has.

  • Also, adons and extensions can cause serious performance hits.

  • Dear Tyler,

I had no idea that the version of Firefox that shipped with OpenSuse was not an official build. Luckily, I am going to reinstall my Linux partition. That way I can start from scratch, and meticulously go through and download all my programs directly from their respective developers. I have always tried to download programs this way, but took it on faith that when I installed a linux distro, the programs would have also been packaged on the install disc in the same manner.
I thank you for taking the time to open my eyes to my complacency and although it might be easier to just use the version that installs from the disc, I now know that might not be the best way to go about it. :D
    thanks a bunch
    Ron.
