@hitesh, i dont think so...

windows xp sp3, yes it's very efficient and compatible to most computers

but today's new modern technologies are more reliable.

windows 7 i agree is far better than windows xp even updated with sp3.

windows 7 is more secured, respondent and fast.

i have tried windows 7 on a 20GB partition and its performance are still better

than my xp sp3 on the other 30GB partition.

i think, its based on computer performance. ^^

but its more better imo. ^^

@MMG
They don't
I can run Windows 7 on 512mb ram, a crappy Gfx card from 2002, and an ok processor just fine
besides a few speed issues (which isn't unusual)

typos,

"i don't understand why all they ask 4 GB of RAM to run smoothly, when an average user only wants to surf internet, play movies, music and type documents."

i don't understand why all they ask 4 GB of RAM to run smoothly, when an average user only wants to suft net and type documents.

Two things to be considered about my past remarks:
First: there are strong rumors about a new OS (W8 or W9) with 128bit plataform, some processor manufacturer is involved at the project to develop the hardware support.

Second: @magnumheart: the 2012 thing was a joke!:) I don't believe it will happens and I agree with your words.

@Rafael: um abraço meu camarada!:)

I heard some news that Microsoft is now cooking a Service Pack for Windows 7. Hope it will fix some bugs that has left in Win7. There is even a rumor that MS is also starting on planning Windows 9 now even tho Windows 8 is still under planning. and Most probably 128-bit will be included in Windows 9 not Windows 8 since there is no hardware that can support 128-bit atm. Soon we might see a 256-bit to 1024 bit PCs! lol :P
