Microsoft Releases Patch to Remove Hardware Virtualization Requirement to Run Windows Virtual PC and XP Mode in Windows 7

Recently Microsoft announced that "Windows XP Mode" for Windows 7 will get an update which will allow a system to run Windows Virtual PC and XP Mode even if it doesn't have Hardware-Assisted Virtualization (HAV) technology.

Actually if your system doesn't have HAV technology and you try to run XP Mode or Virtual PC, you get an error message similar to following one:

Now a patch KB977206 is available for Windows 7 systems which will remove this prerequisite and the system would be able to run Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC.
