does microsoft release any full offline installer that don't require any updates while installation?
VG
^^ No. Actually the offline installer downloads and installs the prerequisite updates.
Fred
Are there any prerequisites for 7 SP1 ? When I launched the so called offline installer, it took a lot of time, much more than to download IE9-Windows7-x86-enu.exe, showing a window with download progress bar.
VG
^^ Yes: support.microsoft.com/kb/2399238

Internet Explorer is the worst browser. Microsoft has everything, it's financially strong, can take advantage of shipping products with Windows and it's applications can use any component of Windows. Despite these advantages, just see these facts-
1. Internet Explorer lacks support for true extensions.
2. Internet Explorer is non-cross platform.
3. Internet Explorer does not support WebGL.
4. Internet Explorer does not support true themes.
Leonel
@Swapnil: Firefox is just released today and all the facts that you have stated are from firefox. Also, I don't know that we have fanboy(s) here.
Swapnil
@Leonel,
Extensions - Firefox and Chrome have a large gallery of Extensions. Opera 11 and Safari 5 introduced support for Extensions and have a small gallery of add-ons. Internet Explorer does not allow add-ons to be fully used. Many Internet Explorer add-ons are simply ActiveX controls.
Cross-platform - Opera, Chrome and Firefox run on Windows, Mac and LINUX. Safari runs on Mac and Windows. Internet Explorer runs only on Windows currently.
WebGL - Chrome and Firefox support WebGL in their stable products. Opera 11.50 in Opera Labs also supports WebGL. Safari Nightly also supports WebGL on Mac OS X 10.6.
Themes - Firefox and Chrome support themes. Opera also has some skins developed by My Opera Community. Safari and IE do not have themes.
