Windows 7 comes with a new enhancement in "AutoRun" feature which restricts the AutoRun entry to only CD and DVD drives. It helps in keeping your system safe from malware, etc.
Now a good news for Windows XP, Server 2003 and Vista users. Microsoft has released an update "KB971029" for XP, Server 2003 and Vista which brings the same feature to these older Windows versions.

That's not bad nor good either... How would you know now if your USB flash disk has a executable virus or none?
VG
^^ Actually its good. Many malware mimic the "Open folder to view files" option and put their own executable file with that yellow folder icon. So users click on it to view the files but the malware starts infecting the system. So this update will fix that issue and the malware will not be able to execute itself.

WTF! I just installed this and I can't apply custom themes anymore!
VG
^^ You'll need to re-run the UXtheme patcher as this update replaces uxtheme.dll file.
Carlos
As always, thank you for a quick answer :D

I just installed it, but after reboot there were no changes to my autoplay menu. I changed the shell32.dll and msgina.dll to windows original ones (I had modified ones) and rerun the installation of this update. I reboot again, but there are still no results. Very strange.
