My Windows 7 Ultimate installation came with 20 regional themes already installed. They are the old ones. I want to download the new regional themes from the Microsoft website, but I would like to delete the old ones first. I know that they are located in the Globilization/MCT folder in Windows 7, but it will not let me delete them. If I could just get it so the old regional themes wouldn't be shown in Control Panel/Appearance, that would be okay. Maybe a Regedit trick or something. Any help would be appreciated.
VG
^^ Did you try to take ownership of folders?
Kris
Thanks for responding. I wasn't 100% sure on how to do that, and to what folder I should do that to. Should it be to the MCT folder or each regional theme folder individually. Could you tell me how. Thanks.
VG
^^ Use following tutoril to add "Take Ownership" option:
http://www.askvg.com/add-take-ownership-option-in-file-folder-context-menu-in-windows-vista/
Then take ownership of "MCT" folder.
Kris
It still won't let me. When I try to delete MCT it says "Folder Access Denied." "You need permission to perform this action." "You require permission from Kris-PC\Kris to make changes to this folder."
