GUI Comparison Between Microsoft Office 2010 and Office 2007

After several Windows 7 builds leak, now its turn of Office 2010. Technical Preview of Office 2010 has been leaked and available for download on torrent sites. Both x86 and x64 versions are available.

Thanks to "Ars Technica", here are some screenshots:

Splash Screen:

Office 2010 splash screen is animated and contains "Minimize" and "Close" buttons.

Ribbons:

The first thing you'll notice in Office 2010 is, application window contains glass in ribbon headers as well, so now you get more glass.

Also there are no borders around toolbar buttons.

One more thing! The Office ORB (big round button at top-left) no longer shows menus. Now in Office 2010, when you click on it, it shows a page having the same menuitems like Open, Save, Options, etc.

Some More Important Changes:

  • Microsoft Outlook also contains ribbons
  • Microsoft Outlook gets Jumplist support in Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office Groove 2007 has been renamed to SharePoint Workspace 2010
  • All buttons in ribbons can be customized
  • Ribbon buttons for each Office application have different colors
