for method 5: You could boot in another OS wich can acces your windows partition; you can backup everything, reinstall windows and recover with your backup.

There's One More Method To Install Windows,Make New User Accounts and Even Save Your Data. This is As Follows:-

1.Imagine You Have A User Account Locked named Administrator

2. Re-Install xp and after installation when it comes to 5 user accounts selection window,
Create Any Other Account Other Than one named Administrator.

3. When it loads the O.S. , Go to c:/documents & Settings/administrator

Here Data in c: drive Befor Installing The Windows like,
My Documents Data, Desktop Data Can Be Easily Recovered
I've Done It Practically Please Try It

1- using Shift+F10 during Install Devices when you recover windows will open a command box.
2- call mmc
3- add local users and groups snap-in to mmc.
4- add a new user which have addministration privilage. (member og administrators group)
5- close the command and let recover go end.
6- loging on with new defined user
