Since the program patches system file and your firewall blocked it in the middle of operation, the file got corrupted and you faced those weird problems. Then I copied the backup over, restarted the computer, it works again. But then another error popped up: In IE 8, I can download a file, but when I try to open it with the "Open" button, it gives me "Windows cannot find the specified device, blah blah blah" Is this directly related to the fact that this program failed?
