Don't worry! Today in this topic we are going to share a simple and easy to use trick which will allow you to enjoy this special Windows Vista version of Yahoo! Messenger in Windows XP.
Following is a preview of this special version running in Windows XP:

You just need to follow these simple steps:
1. First download the required file using following link:
2. Once you download the RAR file, extract it using 7-Zip or WinRAR.
3. Now run "dotnetfx3setup.exe" file present in the extracted folder.
4. At last run "Yahoo.Messenger.YmApp.exe" present in the extracted folder and you'll be able to enjoy the Yahoo! Messenger Vista version in Windows XP.
You can create a shortcut to the EXE file on Desktop or in Quick Launch toolbar and then you'll be able to quickly launch the messenger.

The program runs fine with no slowdowns in XP with Windows Presentation Foundation running in a background.

Thanx alot. It seems this ported app (yahoo mess vista for xp) is just based on .net framework 3.0 platform as weel as ported windows sidebar to xp but without vista API that emulated by Alky. i think the full version will be same, no restriction to install yahoo messenger on xp as long as you have .net framework 3.0 installed, no vista API except if the installer will recognize the os (vista or xp)

It's all the same but the diferrence is you don't have the shadow and the unsharp edges.
And it also actually worked and I don't have to run the installer of .NET Framework 3.0 because I already have version 3.5

I got it to work. Believe me it looks pretty good and all but the features just aren't there.
