How to Install Windows Vista DreamScene Feature in Windows 7 and Later?
If you are using Windows 7 or later and missing Windows Vista’s DreamScene feature which allows you to set a video as Desktop background, here is something interesting for you.
AskVG reader “Gromas” has created a small tool which can bring back Vista’s DreamScene feature to Windows 7 and later. You just need to run this tool and it’ll automatically install the DreamScene feature in Windows 7 and later.

Once installed, you can set your desired video as Desktop background by right-clicking on the video file and selecting “Set as Desktop Background” option. It’ll also add a new option “Play DreamScene” in Desktop context menu.
The tool also comes with an uninstaller, so that you can remove it later.
Thanks again to “Gromas” for creating this tool and sharing exclusively with AskVG readers only…
Does the installer work with 64-bit Windows? I run the program yet it gives me an error.
^^ I have fixed the installer. Now it should work.
Hi, I have downloaded it; works perfectly fine on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, doesn’t seem to work here. There is no option to select Play DreamScene in the Desktop Context Menu.
If I right click on one of my favorite videos, there is no option to “Set As Desktop Background”
Alas, same trouble here, it apparently doesn’t work on x64 versions of Windows 7 Ultimate. I did manage to find one on another site that did the trick though. I did not know Dreamscene existed (never had Vista), so thanks VG for the heads up!
Windows 7 and later, well, what about windows 10?
