Actually, this is not necessary in order to install the better^H^H^H^H^H^H XP versions of WordPad files. An easier method is to install an older version of WordPad (or Paint) in a different location on disk (such as" C:\Program Files (x86)\WordPad" ) and place new shortcuts on your desktop. You could also edit the existing shortcuts to point to the new files. Doing this does not require taking ownership of the previous versions, renaming them, and installing the replacements in the same location. Win7 update would not look any different until the end user would make this choice.
