Here you can find solutions for a few frequently asked problems which are related to Windows Taskbar like:
- Taskbar context menu is disabled. No menu appears when you right-click on taskbar.
- "Lock the Taskbar" option is disabled.
- Can't add toolbars using "Toolbars" option in Taskbar context menu.
- Can't open Taskbar Properties. An error message appears.
- Can't resize or move Taskbar.
So here we start:

1. Taskbar context menu is disabled. No menu appears when you right-click on taskbar.
Sol. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In right-side pane, delete "NoTrayContextMenu" DWORD value.

2. "Lock the Taskbar" option is disabled. Whenever you right-click on Taskbar, "Lock the Taskbar" option is grayed out:

Sol. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In right-side pane, delete "LockTaskbar" DWORD value.

3. Can't add toolbars using "Toolbars" menu in Taskbar context menu. All options are grayed out:

Sol. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In right-side pane, delete "NoCloseDragDropBands" DWORD value.

4. Can't open Taskbar Properties. Whenever you click on "Properties" in taskbar context menu, an error message appears:

Sol. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In right-side pane, delete "NoSetTaskbar" DWORD value.

5. Can't resize or move Taskbar even "Lock the Taskbar" option is unchecked.
Sol. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
In right-side pane, delete "TaskbarSizeMove" DWORD value.

my fiancees taskbar got messed up somehow....either it goes way to low or up a slight bit too high...I cant get it to where its supposd to be....please help!!! thank you.

Please tell me how to get windows vista taskbar to windows 7, i have tried to change icons width in taskbar, to get little bigger icons in taskbar, now in my taskbar there's only icons, i want it to show icons + text, like in vista, now it's very annoying cause there's only icons.

I tried to change minwidth and then i deleted the key but nothing happened.

hi, my vista taskbar has changed to the 2000 style. any help on getting it back would be great.

Go here:
Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Change the theme -> Aero Themes
Now select one theme where's aero and it should change it back to normal.

Hey can someone help me. I just installed windows seven from vista and on my taskbar on the right side where the yahoo! search. The yahoo search is not lined up and besides that everything else works well ? IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO DELETE THE YAHOO SEARCH WINDOW OR CAN I FIX THIS SOME HOW?

i think my dad may deleted something last night and now my taskbar and start menu are the old plain ones and not the xp2 ones, i like the xp2 look but i dont know how to get it back everytime i go to properties and try changing it there is only the classic options i really need your help. so yeh i'd be grateful if you could at least give me some sort of details as to how i go about getting this back please.
