Disabling Aero Snap is NOT the solution to the problem.

Open a bunch of windows. Maximize some, minimize some, set some "restored down" to a size/position of your chosing, then walk away from your computer for 15-20 minutes. When you come back, the stupid OS will have reset ALL of your windows (IE8, Excel, Word, Lotus - it doesn't matter) to 3/4 the size of your available monitor 'real estate' and moved them all to the top-left corner, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME convincing each window that it is MAXIMIZED, for you will NOT be able to resize ANY window without hitting the middle (top-right) button more than once.

You will have to MOVE and RESIZE ***EACH AND EVERY STUPID WINDOW*** EVERY TIME you are 'away' from the computer for any length of time.

HOW DOES THIS INCREASE ANYONE'S PRODUCTIVITY?
AND **WHY** WOULD CODE BE WRITTEN TO DELIBERATELY OVERRIDE THE USER'S PREFERENCES SEVERAL TIMES A DAY?

Where's the nearest Apple store?

Thanks for publishing this.

I wonder what would compel someone to comment that they like snap and others that they don't? Why not just use the technical information presented or not...
Troy.

My Aero Snap isn't working, and I'm pretty it's enabled because I've checked the settings through the Ease of Access Center and the registry too

I can't stand snap, or the previews that appear when you mouse over open programs on the taskbar, and find that these two features are constantly getting in the way of things I actually want to do.

I'm using two monitors and work with many open windows simultenously, so I'm constantly draging windows around the screen. Having one maximize when I only wanted to drag it up out of the way is incredibly annoying! The taskbar previews are also constantly covering up things I'm trying to type at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks for telling us how to turn these off.

As one who typically works between at least three windows, and often 4 or 5, I never have anything maximized and need to be able to move them around when and where I want without Windows taking over and obscuring things I need to see. The snap/maximize feature was driving me crazy and definitely had bit of a negative impact on productivity.

Thanks for publishing this way to turn the @$#% thing off.
