To rename the dll files to _backup, even when you have Ownership, and also Admin account I had to turn off UAC (User Account Control) go to Control Panel then User Account then click Turn off Account Control, and untick box. It warns you about turning this off as it's added security feature of Vista, but after I had restarted computer and renamed the files in System 32, then copied the new ones in there I went back to UAC and ticked the box again and restarted. This puts the extra safefy feature back on again. I couldn't rename the files otherwise. Hope this helps people having trouble despite following the other steps listed.

I got as far as changing the original file names, but my computer says that i need permission to do so? help?

help me please, i've followed all the steps and i'm sure i did every step clearly. what next is there is finally NO DROPDOWN LIST T__T
As the last try, I follow Vistaglazz guide and still no drop down list. if i click the msstyle file directly, it launch an "appereance" window, and if I apply the downloaded theme It loaded, but with vista basic, meaning no transparency..

If anybody downloaded the "Take Ownership" program, and still need permission to change the name of the files, turn off UAC. Google it for instructions.

I have tried several different methods of applying 3rd party themes. Everything goes fine until I go into the themes part in the customize menu and it never appears in the list that comes down. Can you pls email me and help me to do this. I have been trying for months!!! Thanks
