Thanks for this info but can I ask you one question:
What's better this (ZonaAlarm Pro) or Avast! Home Edition?
-Which has the best detection rate overall?
-Which has the best performance?
-Which has the least impact on your system's speed?
Thanks

@Bob
Avast is...not as good as even COMODO. I've been using COMODO's firewall and anti-virus for almost a year right after Avast and I must say, it does a better job. Zone may do even better than them both, but I think COMODO is right for me.
Detection rate, I would assume Zone to be better.
Performance, I would also assume Zone.
System speed, well that depends on your computer specs. Nowadays, almost nothing impacts that as much as it used to.
I hope that semi-helped.

Thanks for the info VG. I was fortunate to get Zone Alarm Pro (Free) License last time. Hope to get it again? Worked well for me but have to make a decision, as I presently use Avast and have beta tested Microsoft's new (MSE) Microsoft Security Essentials.So many choices. I guess I will have to make a Positive VS a Negative list to see which way I go.If you have any suggestions I would appreciate any or all? Cheers Mate !

this is just a firewall
not an AV
but it's free!
VG
Zone Alarm is a good firewall. Since you are going to get the Pro version license absolutely free, I'll suggest to give it a try.
