Windows 7 contains a redesigned Volume Control window which shows better details and graphics for device volumes. Now you can get a similar window in your XP. Thanks to fediaFedia for creating this mod.

After downloading the ZIP file, extract it and you'll get an EXE file "sndvol32.exe". Now you just need to replace existing "sndvol32.exe" file present in "%windir%\System32" folder (here %windir% represents "Windows" folder present in the system drive where Windows is installed in your system) with this new one.
Make sure you have run WFP Patcher in Windows. WFP Patcher disables WFP (Windows File Protection) service which protects editing/replacing of system files and you'll not be able to replace the file until you disable it using WFP patcher.
If you don't want to disable WFP, you can still replace the file using Replacer.

Unfortunately this mod is just pretty, but its performance is buggy. It's not reliable, that's it.
Vishal: we want your work, it is efficient and reliable but others.... it's poor, like this one.
why?
-Once installed, it changes the equalizer configuration, no big deal.
-However when you open the "volume control" and select "Properties" and choose "recording options" then in the recording control the legend next to the thick boxes appears incomplete or almost invisible; so at the end you don't know if choosing this box means "mute" or "select".
-When you use recording software to edit music/sounds then it records buzzy and/or with bad quality, no matter if you re-configure your equalizer.
The fixing:
re-install or extract the original "sndvol32.exe" from your Win XP CD. it fixes all problems.
When I contacted the author about it, exposing the issues explained above in DevianArt, she told me: "it works and it's your problem" and later calling me an #@%$#$.... wow !!!

um....hi.....I just downloaded and replaced my old file like mentioned...the problem is that the font is dark and huge and is getting out of the border and looks nothing like the pic abv...so am i doing something wrong or is it that way onli??
