If you are still using Windows XP and want to have Windows 7 icons in your XP, then this new Icon Pack will definitely help you.
"SevenVG Icon Pack" will make Windows XP icons look like Windows 7.

You can download it using following link:
After downloading the file, extract it and you'll get a folder containing the Icon Pack. You'll need "Stardock Icon Packager" to apply this icon pack which you can find here.
Open "SevenVG.iconpackage" file in Icon Packager and Apply it.

Is it okay to uninstall IconPackager and the other utilities after using them and still retain the 7 effects? Dont like the idea of so many programs sitting around on my pc. Thanks

^^ Those programs don't run in background so you should not worry about them. I think uninstalling them will remove the custom stuff.

the SevenVG Icon Pack doesn't give a preview in IconPakager. (The My Computer windows' empty in IconPackager.) And if I click on Apply Changes, it won't give any effects. Can u help me?

Is there another programme I could use instead of Stardock Icon Packager? Whenever I start the programme I get window popping telling me "Access Denied".
