Get Transparent Titlebar and Taskbar in Maximized Windows under Windows Vista

You may have noticed that when we maximize a window in Vista, it looses its transparency. Many people want the transparency affect even in maximized windows.

You can use a hacked aero.msstyles file, which can enable the transparency in maximized windows. Use following instructions:

1. Download and install VistaGlazz. It'll patch Windows to allow custom themes:

Download VistaGlazz

2. Now download following file:

Hacked Aero Theme

and replace existing "%windir%\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles" file with the downloaded file.

That's it. Restart your system and you'll get transparency in maximized windows as well.

PS. If you don’t want to use VistaGlazz, then you can use Tuneup Utilities to apply the hacked theme:

^^ Rename aero.msstyles file to some other name and then paste your new file. Restart your system and now Windows will start using new file.
