^^ This is not about the "Cannot display Webpage" error. Most people do not have a server on their computer, which is what localhost is. This is about how, when you lick the more information link, it does not change to less information.

There's no date for when this article was posted ... nor for the replies .. so sorry if its old :S

For anybody getting this error of "Cannot display Webpage" in IE8 ... usually when they click on a link which will open a new taab or perhaps a google search result ... then deleting browsing history should fix it.

If not also check the "Lan Settings" found on connections tab of tools/internet options in the browser ..... make sure all boxes are cleared unless of course you know you need proxy server checked.

^^ It was a bug and has been fixed in the latest IE testing build. I got the confirmation from IE team.

It seems its only present in English versions. The bug has been forwarded to IE team and should be fixed in next release.

Actually, I have been having that problem this weekend and it is not isolated to just IE 8, it happens in FF & Chrome.
