Same experience as maria above except my reg key only showed version 4.
I changed the file to msxml6.dll (it was msxml4.dll)
Then went to system32 folder and rergeistered msxml6.dll with regsvr32 and voila

I tried both solution no 2 and 3 but, anyone of them didn't worked. Can you help me? I don't have win xp sp3.

Hi. I have windows xp sp3 (i think) and followed solution #3 but instead of folders with 6.0 I have 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0. I checked "allow" permissions for all users listed, but didn't edit the "default" string because I didn't want to change it without clear instructions. Which folder should I open and what should I change the default string to? Thank you! HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{F5078F18-C551-11D3-89B9-0000F81FE221}\6.0\win32

Sir, i tried to install ms-office 2010 but it didn't worked in my windows xp sp-2. I tried all the above menstioned steps but still it didn't work. Please help me.

Thank's for these precisions about Registry keys.

My Action : Yesterday, before installOffice 2001 I delete about 1000 Keys in Windows XP Registry
Office11, office12, groove, excel, winword.exe ...
I cannot install office 2010 "Message - msxml version 6.10.1129.0 is needed ..."

I copy the key F5078F18...221 from another computer, I run on mine and it is now running (Office 2010 is installed
