Registry Trick to Enable / Activate Aero Glass Theme in Windows Vista and 7 Home Basic Edition

As we all know the new Aero theme is not provided in "Windows Vista and 7 Home Basic Edition", all other editions provide this new cool interface.

But there is a registry trick to enable the Aero interface in Vista and 7 Home Basic edition:

1. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM

3. In right-side pane, change value of "Composition" to 1 and "CompositionPolicy" to 2. If you don't see the keys, create them manually using right-click options.

4. Restart your system and you'll be able to select the Aero interface from Desktop Properties.

NOTE: Your system must meet the minimum requirements to use Aero interface in Vista and 7.

Aero GUI is not present in the Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, live with it or upgrade !

Hallo i know that there is a program that makes the DWM active even when your graphics card does not support it but i dont remember the name

full aero experience will not be enabled in vista home basic, but there are 3rd party softwares that can be used to enable some basic features like the glass effect (in maximized window) i recommend TuneUp Uilities 2009, its better than vistaglazz.
