If you are using Windows 7 but miss the good old blue "Luna" theme of XP, here is something interesting for you.

"Satukoro" @ DA has successfully ported Windows XP "Luna" theme to Windows 7 and it looks like following under Windows 7:

As you can see it looks great and provides same XP feeling in Windows 7.

  • VG, Now updated with start button like XP (http://satukoro.deviantart.com/art/Luna-port-to-Windows-7-Aero-136960235), read statement as follows: Because the Windows 7 start button has a fixed width, I cannot put the entire start button image in, if anyone has suggestions for the startbutton, please confine them to this statement to avoid repetitive comments. • =( I've tried and tried and still cannot get that theme for Windows 7...

My laptop is of the Acer Aspire series.

I have downloaded the Universal Theme Patcher and patched the 3 dlls, and downloaded Satukoro's "Luna port to Windows 7 -Aero-" and copied the Luna.theme file to the C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\ folder. However, when I run it, all it does is change the screen saver to "None" and the desktop background to "blisshd." The style of the windows remains the same as the theme which I had selected right before selecting Luna.

Is there anything I did wrong here? Did I skip some important step somewhere? Any help would be much appreciated =D

^^ Did you also copy the "Luna" folder to "Themes" folder? Also try to disable "Desktop Composition" option in System Properties.

  • Ahhh *slaps head* that would make more sense, thank you very much =) and also thanks for your quick reply =D
