We here at AskVG love the new Metro UI introduced by Microsoft in Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8. Its clean, minimal and easy on eyes.
There are so many 3rd party software and skins available which have implemented this Metro UI and we have shared many of them in past.
Today we are going to share a Desktop Sidebar for Windows Vista and 7 which provides Metro feeling on your Windows Desktop.
You can see the sidebar in action in following screenshot:
When you run "Metro Sidebar" for the first time, it asks you to select the background color and favorite browser. You can set them later as well using its system tray icon.
To exit the sidebar, right-click on its system tray icon and select Exit.
Since its the first version of Sidebar, it provides very limited functionality. We hope the developer will add more features and gadgets in future versions.

I agree with you all but I like the Metro feeling of it. I'm sure it'll get lots of features and customizable settings in future versions. :)

Hey, VG I really like your website and often visit it regularly for the new updates. But, sometimes, when I'm unable to visit your site for like 7 days, I often have to delve down your recent post to see where I was last time, which is sometimes confusing. Could you please sort your articles by date? I mean, sorting posts in groups like Today, Yesterday and day before. That'd be really helpful for me and hopefully others too.

It is available for Windows Xp also. I downloaded and installed it on Windows Xp, it really works!
