backing up files before installing something is a common thing to do...well of course, just in case something happens on the installation, you have a back up.

To Ashish:

you have to sign up for windows live id if you dont have one. If you already have the ID, go back to the download link,

try again and follow instructions...select IT Pro/Worker to be able to download it..

I just downloaded and installed the 90-day trial today and have no problems installing it,
running on this specs..

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz
3 GB RAM
160 HD
Nvidia 7300 GS 512 MB graphics card

its working perfectly fine so far. Im exploring it right now... i got some compatibility issue with McAfee Virus Scan 8,...although it is listed here:

i can't install it...i'll try other antivirus...

so far, that's what i have found at the moment...
the appearance is very nice, also its faster than vista...

Officials from Microsoft told not to download and use it on personal machines and also take a backup of all your data before installation of Windows 7 Enterprise... what is the reason behind it can any one tell ???

@DarkPotato - Yes you need to select IT Pro even if you are not otherwise Download will not happen.

I am downloading now with Opera so Internet Explorer is not required.
I had to say I was currently using a Windows OS to continue to the download page.
The pain is like the shame.

I tried to download it and it said I could not download it because I was not an IT Professional. Do I have to say I am an IT Pro (even if i'm not) in order to get the download?

Few things to note:

You need to select IT Professional or something for downloads to work otherwise it will not take you to download area.

And this can be downloaded only on Internet Explorer since MS activates its download manager.
