This theme has been made for Windows XP users who want to have "Windows 7" look in their Windows. This theme can make your Windows XP look like Windows 7.

"SevenVG" is the first Windows 7 look-a-like theme for Windows XP and almost all other themes available on net are based on it.

This theme provides:

  • Full Start ORB.
  • Windows 7 Superbar.
  • Big and Iconized taskbar buttons.

This theme is an update over previous "SevenVG Refresh" theme. It contains:

  • New Start ORB
  • New Taskbar buttons
  • Reduced Taskbar height, now it looks exact same as Windows 7 taskbar
  • Lots of bug fixes and some new resources

  • Aero32 (for 32x icon size)
  • Aero48 (for 48x icon size)
  • Bottom32 (for 32x icon size)
  • Bottom48 (for 48x icon size)

Aero32 and Aero48 contain left common tasks in Explorer. On the other hand, Bottom32 and Bottom48 contain bottom common tasks. So feel free to use whichever do you want.

HOW TO USE:

  • Styler Toolbar (This folder contains Styler setup and SevenVG styler toolbar skin. It'll provide Windows 7 look-a-like toolbar and commandbar in Explorer.)

^^ Almost all other Windows 7 themes have been made using this SevenVG theme, thats why you faced the same problem. Its happening because we are changing default taskbar buttons height and Windows can't rectify it, thus not restore taskbar when we hover cursor over buttons. If you hover the cursor over ORB or blank area on taskbar, it'll show the taskbar.

  • Ahh, I see, thanks a lot for the clarification. For the time being I think I'll just stick with the first 7 theme then, as its not really worth it to have to be conscious of where I'm hovering the mouse just to bring up the taskbar, especially with multiple windows open and multitasking as I'm used to. I'm stuck on a dark ages CRT monitor for the time being, but once I buy a new one which should be soon, the higher resolution will probably have me just ditching auto-hide for these newer themes, I like them that much. Right now I just need all the space I can get. Thanks again for explaining the situation, and keep up your great work.

  • this theme is great so far. really like it, thanks a lot for the effort.

there is one large bug with this theme and all the other xp to windows 7 themes. when using dual monitors, dragging any window from one screen to the other is impossible. when dragging, the cursor will get to the edge of the screen, then stop, when this happens, the window will disappear and will not reappear untill you release left mouse button.

im sure there is a quick way to patch this, hope it comes out soon.

  • I'm loving it!!! :D Vishal you're the greatest! Thank you for sharing this with us. =]

  • gooood

  • When i booted up this theme in my desktop properties, it changed it to windows classic? what should i do??

  • Timmy, it sounds like you need to patch the uxtheme.dll.
