This theme contains 2 sub-styles:

  • Aero32 (for 32x icon size)
  • Aero48 (for 48x icon size)

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the file and extract its content. You'll get a folder "SevenVG Black Theme for Windows XP by Vishal Gupta".

2. In this folder, you'll get 5 more folders:

  • Extra Common Tasks (This folder contains 2 extra shell styles: Bottom and Left dark blue)
  • Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Run Fonts.exe file to install them.)
  • Iconized Taskbar Hack (This folder contains registry script to enable Iconized taskbar in Windows XP.)
  • Styler Toolbar (This folder contains Styler setup and SevenVG styler toolbar skin. It'll provide Windows 7 look-a-like toolbar and commandbar in Explorer.)
  • Theme (This folder contains the main theme. Run Theme.exe file to install it.)

3. Apply the theme using Desktop Properties and you have done.

4. Also make sure you have patched the "uxtheme.dll" file to allow 3rd party visual styles, if its not patched, then download and run the UXtheme Patcher from here:

  • PERFECT!!!!!!
    Downloaded and using it now!

The only thing that hits me: I use to auto-hide my taskbar. And with your theme, the taskbar doesn't pop up when I move my mouse down to the lower border of the screen EVERYTIME.
It does, when I move the mose to the task-area (middle area). It does NOT show, when I move the mouse down towards the clock and systray area (right) or the quicklaunch (in my case "freelaunchbar" area) of the taskbar. When moving down at the left where the start-orb is, the taskbar shows in - let's say - 80% of times.

I once ran into this problem when I tried to mod the green/blue skin of xp and tried to produce a narrower top border (which is only visible when you set it to autohide, and obviously necessary to bring the taskbar back to the screen when it hid down there.)

So again, this is only a problem with a hiding taskbar, and only a minor one. But your skin is so awesome, that I would love even this mini-bug to be resolved ^_^

  • thanks a lot Vishal!

    A suggestion :-

your iconized taskbar tweak works very well but the icons in the taskbar still remain the same 'tiny size'

I request you make some registry setting so the ions also look big in the Taskbar too
