Since Windows XP SP3 Final version has been released, most of the people are using it in their systems. If you are also using SP3 in Windows XP and unable to use 3rd party themes, then download this new UXtheme Patcher:
Download Windows XP SP3 UXtheme Patcher
Run the EXE file and click on "Patch" button. It'll take a few seconds and then you can restart your system to take effect.
This patcher works in SP3 RTM version only. If you are using SP3 Beta or RC version, then I'll advise you to not use this patcher. You can download the required patched "UXtheme.dll" file from following link and then copy it to "%windir%\System32" folder using "Replacer":

^^ Try to run the patcher again and it should restore the original file otherwise look into "Windows\System32" folder and you should get a backup file of "uxtheme.dll". Rename current "uxtheme.dll" file to "uxtheme.dll.old" and then rename backup file to "uxtheme.dll". Restart your system and it should fix the problem.
Otherwise you can give following command in Command Prompt and it'll replace all edited system files like uxtheme.dll with default files:
sfc /scannow
123
Where does it tell me if i have sp3 beta or rc verion

I have updated with XP SP3 version 6.2.29.00.
Is there patched “UXtheme.dll” file for the above version?

hello. why after im using uxtheme patch for xp sp3 user... after restart my computer cannot log into windows, it keep always restart.... im using xp pro version 2002 service pack 3. any step to solve my problem thx

^^ Boot into Safe mode by pressing "F8" key and then go to "Windows\System32" folder. Look for "Uxtheme.dll" file, you'll see a backup file of it. Delete the "Uxtheme.dll" file and rename the backup file to "uxtheme.dll".
It seems your Sp3 version number is different. Is it beta or RC? Try manually replacing the patched uxtheme.dll file using second method mentioned in the above topic.

im already view in system properties, it just wrote
windows xp version 2002 service pack 3
just it.... i upgrade sp3 from windows update here is the issue : windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86

sorry for double post....
im gonna using replacer.... and im confuse which version and so i check in my system32 and found that my uxtheme version is 6.0.2900.2180 what does this mean? is my system still on sp2 or what?

^^ I think you are using SP3 beta or rc version, thats why the file version is older. Try to download following SP3 EXE file and install it:
