Hi Vishal, sorry if this is no the correct place to ask, but I'm desperate.
I'm about to install Windows 7 but when I'm about to install it it says "Windows can't retrieve information about the discs in the machine" or something like that (I'm translating it).
Please help me!

^^ Most of the time this error occurs when the burning was not successful and the setup disc is corrupt. You can try following things one by one:
1. Burn a new DVD with a low burning rate.
2. Try with any other DVD brand. I would prefer Moserbaer.
3. Sometimes this error might occur due to multiple HDD in a system. If you are using more than one HDD, try to remove other HDD and then install Windows 7. You can re-attach other HDD after successful installation.

I can't find where this installs to (how do I open it once it's closed), it keeps freezing, there's no user guide or support and where do I get themes? Seems like a nice idea I recently researched skinning Media Center didn't see anything I liked.

and then the blank unnamed one remains.
and there is a playlist on the left pane "All" but if i click on it
no songs were inside. how come?
is it an issue with wmp toolbar for wmp 12?
i tried uninstalling it now. il see if it would fix my problem. after restart.

^^ Had issues like that before... If you've still got your Windows 7 install disc, you're gonna want to boot to that and use the links in the lower left-hand corner (after the language selection screen) to "fix my computer" or "repair Windows" or somesuch line like that... it'll have an option to check your startup settings (if it doesn't check them automatically) and offer to fix them.
Somehow, your Bootmgr file died. That file lets you have different options at startup on which operating system to run, or automatically selects the standard installation if you've only got one.
If you ever play with Linux much, you're likely to killthe Bootmgr file a few times...

@Carlos: for some reason your system boot partition may be damaged.
You may do the following sequence to repair:
Put the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start your computer.
Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, as you and then click Next.
Click Repair your computer.
Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
Type these commands EXACTLY as follow:
Bootrec.exe /FixMbr
Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
Press ENTER after each command.
Restart your computer and good luck.
