This gives a clue as to why the Views button on the "programs and features" list doesn't act like it should. Have you ever noticed that it doesn't remember your preferred view ie. you change it to Details view and then come back a day later and it's not Details? Must be a custom task band and view button just for this window and not hooked together properly. Interesting.
