Yes they should have developed two different OS or one system with built in capability for recognize which platform it is - Desktop or tablet OS.

The issue around all this is that it's impossible choose this direction, unless they take decision giving up the whole planned concept in release the interface called metro side by side with the idea of making a new era of mobile stuff. That's the thingy by reinventing the wheel one more time because that's what they need when they now can't sell desktop computers anylonger like they used to do before.

Can imagine also that another question is about, how shall MS support all these computers out there that people have bought before and kept because they still working great besides many knows better today in how to make them run and give them more lifetime, that's not economically justified for MS keeping on that work forever. They want to sell new stuff.

We having two sides here with two different point of view, one is the customers and the other one Microsoft. What many perhaps miss here is that we easily getting stuck here in checking details watching particularly functions inside this new version in comparison with how it's been before.
Please don't forget the importance of internet in this discussion as well, I'm asking you.

Just remember what made Microsoft as big as it is today?
When that happened and it started to grow if looking back, which versions did we have and what kind of new experiences and new features did we get from all this?

The answer is the creation of Internet.

Can it be reinvented?

No, not on a desktop but on a tablet or similar mobile device because it's something new for us.

My Bad... :(
I've told Synofsky 2 years ago that the small start menu of Windows 7 is imposible to use on touch screen and he need to find a solution. But that comlaining about the removal of classic start menu - more easy to use on a touch.
What he did is excellent for a tablet but a big mistake for a deskop PC. Should make 2 different OS.

"First removal of Classic start menu from Windows 7, then removal of the whole start menu from Windows 8 and now they removed Start button from Taskbar? Where are they going?"

Precisely why I wish they hadn't removed the Classic Start Menu in Windows 7, considering that the whole thing would be scrapped in its successor.

First of all you have to see what is actually it is. I think Windows 8 will be better than windows 7. For those who think it is a crap, stick to windows 7. Microsoft isn't forcing you to download and install. And I know 9/10 people who are blaming here are pirated user. They doesn't want to pay single ruppee for Microsoft's hardwork. They just like to blam.
