hi vg. i am using an add-on for firefox that gives you

power to modify tabs and put tab progress bar like in safari.

OK you said you have been using it since 06, but the title is best "IE8" look like theme, so you should have been more detailed. Either way it is cool, and I use it too.

This skin updates it's appearance every time a new version of IE is released. So, in 06, it was showing IE7. Research a bit please.
