I just upgraded from 2011 to 2012. 2011 was really slow and and taxed my Pentium M on my old HP/Compaq nc6000 when it was updating or scanning. So far, the 2012 version seems to be a lot faster and uses less CPU while running and loads up faster also. Kudos AVG and thanks for the post VG.

I use Avast! Free Edition Antivirus With COMODO free firewall and Malwarebytes(a free utility to run manual scans for viruses and full on-demand protection) On my Windows XP with 1024 MB RAM. They work Awesome...When I feel that My PC needs speed, I enable my Malwarebytes and run my full system scan and I surprisingly get lightning fast scans(It takes 30 Mins while avira takes an hour)!

HI VG,
I am regular user of your site and visited most of time. Your site is so helpful to download usable software. But right now i m getting problem loaing page on this article for Free AVG standalone download link. Download link (32-bit) and Download Link(64-Bit). I dont know which one for windows XP and which Bit is useful in my OS. I am getting error when i clicked on this both link one by one regarding loading page error. Please do something.

I've had better luck with Avast than I have with AVG or MSE. MSE has missed or failed to remove stuff on my system and AVG has caused problems. I'll stick with Avast.
